Kustavi has a coffee history dating back to Volter Kilven's writings.

In the story, a man called Vaasan Ville, invests all his savings in building a magnificent frigate and hires his friend Kalle from Närpiö as its captain. Their goal was to obtain a cargo of coffee.

Years passed, but the Albatross was nowhere to be seen. Ville became desperate and feared losing not only his money but also his frigate. Seven years later, a ship that looked more like the ghost of the Albatross arrived at the home port. Ville was angry when he saw the sorry state of the ship and was ready to kill Captain Kalle.

However, it eventually became clear that the Albatross frigate had sailed the world's seas and had now returned with a full load of coffee. In the hold were also a couple of large chests filled with valuable currencies and objects.

In honor of this coffee tradition, the flavor profile has been elevated a few levels darker for the pleasure of dark roast lovers and the horror of the roaster.

The coffee shipment has arrived in Kustavi once again, though without the valuable currencies and objects.
